Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Kyo’s introduction from the beginning of the book “Shikaku: a dead angle,” written in 1999 by Yuichi (You) Masuda, translated by me.
Neither poison nor medicine, as a certain “rock of convenience” spreads rampantly in the music scene like lukewarm water, the power of the deadly poison that Kyo vomits is remarkably strong. Neither simple enumeration of radical words, nor commencement of a blind attack, his songs are always pointedly sharp because they are distinctive of the “pain” involved in being human. Whether thunderous high-speed tunes possessing overwhelming destructive force, or beautifully sublime ballads, his songs are always filled with it. Adding fuel to the fire, he turns up his nose at too-enthusiastic responses, a ferocious, evil instigator. On the stage, the only effect that this spewing of his inner chaos may have is therapy for himself. And as this deadly poison is emitted, it is medicine to us. It’s highly addictive…
